Following last year's referendum, all uncontested candidates must pass a non - confidence vote. This means that students can vote for an uncontested position this year. Uncontested candidates are essentially running against the "Decline" option. If the decline option takes 50% +1 (or more) votes for a certain position, then the voters do not have confidence in this candidate and the position will be left vacant for a by-election. These defeated candidates are eligible to run in the by-election for their respective position.

5) In regard to AFSA potentially becoming the commerce society at the University of Waterloo, are you in favour of AFSA exploring talks to admit "Associate" - non-SAF - business student members into the organization?
6) In regard to AFSA potentially becoming the commerce society at the University of Waterloo, are you in favour of AFSA exploring talks to move away from its affiliation with the Arts Student Union (ASU) and potentially becoming a society under the Federation of Students (FEDS)
Important: AFSA Elections Voting Period Change to June 4 to June 9
After long deliberations with the Elections Committee and current AFSA Executives, we have decided to push the time period for voting from Monday, June 2, 2014 - Thursday, June 5, 2014 to Wednesday, June 4, 2014 (9:00 AM) to Monday June 9, 2014 (9:00 AM).This means that results will now come out on Tuesday June 10, 2014 at 9:00 AM. This is because we want to ensure that MAccs have the ability to vote during the elections period as this has been a problem in the past.
Happy Voting!
