Live Competition 2015 Opportunity

LIVE, Leading Innovative Visions to Executions is a national multidisciplinary undergraduate business competition hosted by the University of Toronto Scarborough. They are currently looking for a team of enthusiastic individuals to become part of our team as one of their Campus Brand Managers (CBM) for LIVE Competition 2015 and would like to invite students from Waterloo.

The LIVE CBM Program is the recruitment of LIVE’s external team that will represent LIVE and promote LIVE Competition at their respective universities. LIVE CBMs will be the voice of LIVE Competition through personal selling and effective marketing campaigns. Their ultimate goal is to successfully register their peers from his/her respective university and compete in LIVE Competition 2015.

Each interested candidate will apply to become a CBM through an application process and undergo an interview. The deadline to apply is Sunday May 24th, 2015 at 11:59pm. A downloadable information package and the application can be found at http://live-competition.org/cbm/ .

Joining Steve will be two current SAF students that have had co-op experiences in private equity. Mink Capital is a private equity group focused on acquiring small-to-medium sized companies with strong cash flows. He is an inspiring speaker on the subjects of privateequity and entrepreneurship, and serves as a member of the CFA Private Client Committee and the CFA Mentorship Committee.

Success Beyond the Classroom Alumni Seminar Series—hosted by School of

Accounting & Finance Alumnus, Upkar Arora, and Friends

As a 3rd or 4th year SAF undergraduate or MAcc student, you have a chance to be 1 of 50 students to gain insight and perspective from successful leaders to enhance your long term success after graduation. You will engage in conversation with accomplished SAF alumni and friends who have excelled in business and life after being educated at SAF. The content will not be technical. Discussions will focus on topics such as communication and interviewing, problem solving, collaboration, relationship building, critical thinking, emotional intelligence, entrepreneurship and creativity, opportunity recognition and risk taking. Topics may be adjusted based on participant feedback and needs. The format will be seminar / workshop style. This is not career counseling or employer networking. The aim is to prepare you for success beyond the classroom. A written Certificate of Participation signed by Upkar Arora and SAF School Director will be presented to students who participate in the series.

First Year Semi-Formal

Put on your best suit or dress and come attend AFSA's Unveiled Semi-Formal at the newly renovated Feds Hall on Friday March 20th! The event will be based around a masquerade style theme, so make sure you dazzle everyone with your awesome masks. The evening will begin with registration at 6:30 PM and dinner will start at 7:15. A special guest speaker will teach us proper dining and etiquette throughout an amazing meal, after which we have planned a dance (with an amazing DJ of course) and a photo booth session! Seats are limited so make sure you register and purchase your tickets as soon as possible! Prices are $30 for SAF students and $40 for those outside of SAF.
