Haunted Hagey Hall!

AFSA is proud to present Haunted Hall. For the first time ever, we have transformed Old Hagey Hall into a haunted house and are inviting you to enter. On October 30th, from 7pm – 10 pm you will definitely scream once you see what we have in store for you. If you don’t like being scared, join us in SAF Lounge instead where we’ll have free snacks, refreshments and a photo booth for you to enjoy! AFSA External Funding Proposals due Oct. 30

AFSA is currently welcoming any student group to submit an external funding proposal for any project. The proposals are evaluated by the Executive Team and by the Board of Directors based on the purpose and the value of the project to School of Accounting & Finance (SAF) students. Please complete this file and submit a formal budget for the project.

Please submit proposals to  VP.finance@uwafsa.ca by October 30th, 2015.

AFSA Annual Leadership Award!

AFSA is still taking nominations for its fourth rendition of the AFSA Annual Leadership Award! Students can win in the Overall, SAF Community Contributions, or Contributions to a Worthwhile Endeavour Outside the University categories. Selected by random draw, two students will be sitting on the Selection Committee along with AFSA President, Lynn Wu, and AFSA Chairman, Anna Liang. Two professors, to be named later, will also be sitting on the Selection Committee.

The Investors of Tomorrow Stock Pitch Competition

The Investors of Tomorrow is a student run charity whose goal is to expand financial literacy and socially responsible investing education across Canada. The IOT is proud to announce their flagship annual Stock Pitch Competition, a fantastic opportunity for students to compete and present in front of judges from the finance industry.

This year, the qualifier round submissions are due October 31 at 11:59 PM, and the finalists will present onNovember 14th. Teams will participate in pairs, and the winning team will be awarded $250. Please find the competition instructions and grading rubric athttp://bit.ly/StockPitchCompetition.

Reach For the Stars

Reach for the starsAFSA’s annual trivia competition, Reach for the Stars, is coming up on October 25th. Show off your trivia knowledge in a showdown against other teams and prove to everyone else that you are the best. AFEF Information Session

Attention School of Accounting and Finance members: students, faculty, alumni and staff. Do you have a great idea that you want to make happen but need financial sponsorship? Are you part of a club or organization that has a need for financial sponsorship to support your initiatives? The Accounting and Finance Endowment Fund would like to invite all those interested for an overview of the AFEF Funding Disbursement process for the 2015/2016 Academic Year.

The Information Session will happen this Friday, October 9, 2015 at 11:30 in Hagey Hall 2104. Come out to the session for a walkthrough of how to submit a funding proposal and to have any questions or comments addressed.

Code in Fnance Program

Two SigmaMorgan Stanley, and Galatea Associates are running the Code in Finance Program to help students with quantitative backgrounds make sense of the wide variety of different opportunities to apply their skills in finance.
