Candidate for VP Internal Services for 2025/2026 General Election

Right now, I think a lot of students in SAF are trying to juggle academics, career prep, and involvement, but it’s not always easy to know where to start or how to find support. There’s also a gap when it comes to inter-year connection—many first- and second-years feel unsure of how to navigate the program or take that first step. I want to help by making AFSA events feel more welcoming, informative, and accessible to everyone. That means improving how we communicate opportunities, offering more casual ways to get involved, and creating events that focus not just on networking, but also on community and wellness.

I’ve always been drawn to roles where I can help bring ideas to life and support people behind the scenes. As a First-Year Internal Services Project Manager, I got a clear view of how AFSA operates, and it made me excited to take on a bigger role. One of my proudest moments was co-leading our Career Vision Board Night, which I initially proposed. Planning and executing that event from start to finish taught me how much impact thoughtful event design can have. I’m running for VP Internal because I want to create more moments like that—where students leave feeling inspired, supported, and seen.

Creative, Purposeful Events

I’ll introduce a mix of fun and career-focused events that reflect student interests and needs. Whether it’s something reflective like Vision Board Night or interactive like a networking social, I want our events to feel fresh, engaging, and meaningful.

Stronger Volunteer Experience

I’ll prioritize clearer onboarding, better communication tools, and regular check-ins to support volunteers. I also want to implement new ways to recognize them—like spotlight posts or endorsements—so their work doesn’t go unnoticed.

Smooth Internal Operations

Organization is key. I’ll streamline internal processes and scheduling to make sure everyone from execs to team members—can collaborate efficiently and confidently.

Collaboration & Accessibility

I’ll work closely with other portfolios to ensure AFSA events feel welcoming and inclusive for all students, regardless of year or experience level.

I’ve had the chance to grow within AFSA, and I’m ready to step up and lead. Through planning and helping run multiple events, I’ve built a strong understanding of what goes into a successful experience—not just logistically, but emotionally. Outside of AFSA, I’m also involved in AFOW, UW FinTech, and ESG Waterloo, where I’ve taken on outreach roles that strengthened my communication, time management, and ability to connect with diverse teams. I’m someone who genuinely cares about people and takes initiative when it matters. If elected, I’ll bring consistency, creativity, and care to everything I do as VP Internal.
