How do you feel AFEF can benefit from you on the BoD?

"Having most recently served as the Chair of BoD of AFSA, I represented AFSA on AFEF’s Board of Directors. I also have previous experience on AFSA’s executive committee as AFSA’s VP of Administration and Knowledge Management. I believe that leveraging these experiences will enable me to contribute to the financial management and decision-making processes of AFEF, ensuring that funds are allocated efficiently and transparently to projects that align with AFEF's mission.

I had the privilege of sitting on AFEF’s Board and evaluated several funding proposals, while focusing on the benefit of SAF students and making key decisions to improve the AFEF funding process. Last year within AFSA, one particular goal I achieved was to improve AFSA applications and provide everyone with a more transparent description of who we are, by organizing a committee engagement survey to gather the first-hand experiences of AFSA members and introducing the About: AFSA Committees page on our wonderful website."

What current or future initiatives would you prioritize AFEF funding for?

I believe it is crucial to support initiatives that bridge the gap between academia and industry. This includes funding opportunities for guest speakers, workshops, case competitions, and networking events that expose students to real-world challenges and provide them with practical skills. By facilitating these interactions, AFEF can better prepare SAF students for their professional careers and help equip them with the knowledge and connections necessary to succeed.

I aim to contribute to the ongoing success of AFEF in enriching the educational experiences of SAF students and preparing them for their future careers. As director of AFEF, I will collaborate with the other directors, SAF faculty, and alumni to advocate for the allocation of funds towards initiatives that directly benefit SAF students in an educational manner, while ensuring the responsible and efficient use of resources. I will promote diversity and inclusivity within AFEF's projects, ensuring that students from all backgrounds have equal opportunities to engage and benefit from the initiatives. I will continuously evaluate and assess the impact of funded initiatives, seeking feedback from students and stakeholders to make data-driven decisions and improve the effectiveness of AFEF's contributions.
