Position you are running for: AFSA Board of Directors
What do you believe are the main concerns for students in SAF right now? How would you like to approach fixing them?
SAF students nowadays like many other students of the university face a bunch of different problems on a daily basis that AFSA can help in addressing, and they are as follows. Being a SAF student myself I know that one of the main concern SAF students today have is about the co-op competition that exists for them between students in the same program as them and even other programs pursuing the same jobs such as FARM, or CFM. While AFSA over the years has been doing a great job at solving this issue at hand by providing SAF students with a great opportunity of networking with a variety of different companies, I believe that being that student myself I have a better idea of how this problem can be addressed to. As a board of director at AFSA, I can provide my input into additional things required to solve this issue at hand such as training students or having special events for students who think that this is the area where they struggle the most.
What do you know about the roles and responsibilities of a Board of Director? In addition to general executive oversight and advocacy, what are some tangible deliverables that you would “want to see happen” during your 12 months as a Board of Director?
Being part of the board of directors comes up with huge responsibilities of different kinds, and some other than general executive oversight and advocacy include collaborating with the executive team to develop a clear and comprehensive strategic plan that aligns with AFSA's mission and sets measurable goals and objectives. Under this responsibility of a board of director, I would want to see maximum number of students being helped by the initiatives that AFSA takes such as them taking advantage of the networking opportunities provided to them and hence I will try to help strategically plan how a maximum number of students can be attracted to following the AFSA and the events organised by it.

Eventhough I might not have previous experience with AFSA but I do believe that I am a good candidate to be voted for the board of directors. This is because of my different areas of expertises in the finance department as an AFM student who has good financial knowledge and expertise, and in the marketing department with previous internships in marketing and having a YouTube channel of my own. Its not just my experience that helps me stand out but also what this experience has taught me such as teamwork, leadership, and development of my inter personal skills. Given my areas of expertise and experience I think I will be a good choice for this role as I would put the students preference and choice above all and help put out what works in their best interests.
